Our No Fuss Farewell is for when you wish to be at the chapel to say farewell in your own private way without a formal funeral service.
It’s a simple format to give you the time and space to just be in the moment and reflect.
Attended typically by 1 – 15 people, it is a low-cost funeral offered at off-peak times with specific choices.
9am or 9.30am benefits from an early morning discounted crematorium rate at Mortlake and Kingston.
To support families who find an early start difficult, the same service is offered at 4pm or 4.40pm. Fees will be higher due to full crematorium rates.
Should you require more flexibility, please look at our Personalised option which can also be low key.

What happens at a No Fuss Farewell
- The coffin is already placed
- Your chosen opening music will play as we walk you into the chapel
- Chapel time is 20 minutes
- The time is family led (no celebrant)
- With a small number attending, families typically gather around the coffin, some choose to just listen to music, some read out their own tributes
- To help you settle, we can say a simple welcome and close the service time if needed.

Music, Photos and Flowers
Any commercially available music tracks can be played, we organise this for you.
With this being an intimate farewell, consider taking a favourite framed photo or personal items to place with the coffin during the service time.
A TV screen in the chapel can show a holding photo. Or, a rolling loop of up to 25 photos (£50 additional charge).
Families often take their own flowers to place on the coffin themselves, or our recommended florists can create simple arrangements.
Consider the No Fuss Farewell if….
Our No Fuss Farewell works for families where Direct Cremation – an unattended funeral – feels too remote. But they don’t wish for a typical funeral service either.
We see many meaningful farewells this way. Typically, as there is a smaller number of people attending, family gather around the coffin which may feel more intimate, but you can use the pews and lectern if you prefer.
Some families just listen to chosen music. Some read their own tributes or a favourite poem. What this farewell gives is the time and space to reflect, without the pressure of a service or having more people around you.
The No Fuss Farewell is priced as an inclusive fee to make decision making easy. The earlier start in particular benefits from discounted crematorium fees and the crematoriums are peaceful at this time of day.
If you are looking for more flexibility and options then please look at our Personalised Cremation service, which can be as low key or as ceremonial as you wish.

Rolling loop of up to 25 photos £50
Dressing – clothing does NOT need to be provided, a soft coffin sheet is used which is kinder to the body. Pacemaker removal (if required): £95
If your relative died at home, care home or hospice – as collection is timely and not scheduled like a hospital collection, a £250 fee applies.
Out of area collection (outside of London, elsewhere in UK): £2 per mile round trip from TW13
* Our fee includes: Arranging the funeral, processes and legal forms, collection and looking after your relative at our private facilities, hand-holding you through the process, taking care of all the details, personal access to our team outside of office hours, our attendance on the day and use of our informal Galaxy hearsette vehicle as required.
Payment terms: We require full payment by bank transfer 3 working days before the date of the funeral. If payment is being made through the deceased family member’s bank account or solicitor we appreciate this can sometimes take longer and we would need to see proof that the payment request has been submitted and is in progress.
